IN LOVING MEMORY

Doris June Halpin

Jun 19 1932 - Jan 13 2026

Doris June (Haley) Halpin, a resident of McKinney, Texas, passed away January 13, 2026 at the age of 93. She was born on June 19, 1932, to her loving parents, Olin Lee Haley and Maggie Esther Harris Haley in Atlanta, Georgia. Doris married the love of her life, Edwyn Woodrow Halpin, on February 13, 1948, in Dallas, Georgia. Over the years, Edwyn and Doris made countless happy memories while raising their children, Jerry, Ronnie, Ellen, And Gail. Through all the good times and challenges, they taught their family the value of love, togetherness, and resilience.

She worked for the United States Post Office, where she built a career marked by dedication, reliability, and quiet pride before retiring after many years of service. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a faithful and active member of Wesley United Methodist Church in McKinney. She found great joy in serving others through the church, especially as a member of the Piecemakers quilting group, where her handiwork reflected both creativity and compassion. She also devoted time to assisting shut-ins and participating in visitation ministries, always offering comfort, kindness, and a listening ear.

Family was the center of her world and the greatest source of her happiness. She was deeply devoted to those she loved and took genuine joy in caring for others. She was known for waking up each day with a smile and an unwaveringly positive outlook. With a gentle nature, steady faith, and selfless heart, she faced life with humility and grace, never complaining and always placing the needs of others before her own.

Doris is survived by her children, Jerry Halpin (Brenda) of Lucas, Texas, Ellen Chapman, and Gail Campbell both of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Lance Halpin (Edy), Kelli Bruce, Chris Chapman (Jen), Matt Halpin (Kassie) and Marc Halpin (Courtney); fourteen great grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and friends, who will miss her and cherish her memory.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Olin and Maggie Haley, beloved husband, Edwyn Halpin, son, Ronnie Halpin, granddaughter, Kerri Halpin, and sisters, Essie Cannon and Shirley Goletto.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 19, 2026, at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
