Dorcas Wright Sulek of Plano, Texas passed away July 25, 2019 at Medical City Plano, after a long and unrelenting illness. She was born on August 5, 1956, the precious daughter of Rilla and Charlie Wright, Jr. in Dallas, Texas.
Dorcas was a charismatic, talented, colorful, and animated woman. She adored being a mother and grandmother and her first priority was always family. Dorcas lifelong passions were music, cooking and eating good food, movies, and all forms of entertainment, including her personal ability to entertain. Her sense of humor was infectious and much appreciated. Dorcas had a charisma never to be forgotten and she will be profoundly missed.
Dorcas loved as intensely as she was loved. Our hearts are broken. We’ll never be the same, but we’re so grateful she is free. Her fight is over.
Dorcas is survived by her mother, Rilla Wright; son, Wright Sulek and partner, Ashley Alkek of Austin, Texas; daughter, Caroline Sulek of Plano, Texas; brother, Charles Wright, lll and wife, Patty Fair of Gunter, Texas; sister, Kimberly Wright Burandt of Fishersville, Virginia; dearest three year-old grandson, Henry William Sulek of Plano, Texas; favorite nephew, Jeffrey Charles Burandt and wife, Shelley Ruchti; great niece, Vesper June Burandt of Brooklyn, New York; a long list of wonderfully close aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends; many since childhood. Also, close to her heart and not to forget her sweet cat, Adrian.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Wright, Jr.; brother, Robert Mears Wright; maternal grandparents, Ethel and Roy Spiller; paternal grandparents, Thelma and Charles Wright, Sr.; step grandfather, David Umbenhour; and uncle, Mont Wolf.
An inurnment will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2019 at “The Patch” in the family cemetery on the Spiller Ranch, Kimble County, Texas with Charles Hagood officiating.
