IN LOVING MEMORY

Donna Rhea Wilson

Jan 23 1940 - Apr 23 2021

Donna Rhea Darr Wilson passed away April 23, 2021 in Farmersville, Texas, after suffering a stroke, which added to her struggle with Alzheimer's, blindness and heart disease.

She was born Jan. 23, 1940, to Ray Darr and Helen Bittinger in Aspers, Pennsylvania. Donna graduated from Fairfield High School in Pennsylvania in 1958, before she married Herb Wilson on Feb. 27, 1960 in Iron Springs, Pennsylvania. Donna and Herb spent two years in Germany while Herb served in the Army. They settled back in Gettysburg, where all three children (Mikey, Patty, and Matt) were born.

Donna was a dedicated and loving "Mom." She began a journey of caring for two special needs sons, which she carried out into her final days. She dearly loved them and, was blessed with extra measures of patience.
The family of five moved to Plano, Texas in 1978 and then to Farmersville in 1982-where they built their home. Her life was all about raising the kids. When they were all in school, she went to work at Tatum Elementary in the cafeteria, and as a teacher's aide for several years, so she could work a school schedule. She also worked at the old Target in McKinney for a few years.
Her favorite things included family, going to church, singing, sewing, reading, butterflies, African violets, the color blue, shoes, and the old music shows in Farmersville.

She was a faithful and caring wife to Herb for 61 years of marriage. She will be remembered by family and friends as a loving, patient, gentle Christian lady.

She is survived by her husband Herbert, daughter Patricia Roberts and husband Michael Roberts, her son Matthew Wilson, and one grandchild Kristen Roberts—all of Farmersville, Texas.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, one son Michael Wilson, and one sister Louise Carson.

A visitation will be held at Hurst's Fielder-Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville, Texas from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2021. The Funeral service will be at Hurst's Fielder-Baker in Farmersville the following day at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.
