Donna Lynn (Garner) Russell, a resident of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026 at the age of 78. She was born on December 15, 1947, to her loving parents, Melvin Clyde Garner and Tommie Mary (Marsh) Garner and raised in Melissa, Texas.
On July 1, 1967, in McKinney, she married the love of her life, Charles Monroe Russell, beginning a beautiful journey together filled with love, family, and cherished memories.
Throughout the years, Donna dedicated herself to caring for others. She worked for many years in childcare, where her nurturing nature and love for children touched many lives. Later, she enjoyed working as a floral arranger, allowing her creativity and appreciation for beauty to shine through.
Donna was also devoted to her faith and service to the body of believers. She was a founding member of Bethany Bible Fellowship, a member of Fellowship Bible Church, and Grace Community Church in Tyler, Texas. Her faith in Christ and willingness to serve others were an important part of her life and are evidence for the new life she walks into now.
Donna will be lovingly remembered for her devotion to her family and the many lives she touched throughout her years. Her memory will be treasured by all who knew and loved her.
Donna is survived by her son, Kyle Russell and wife, Allison of Dallas, Texas; daughters, Megan Russell and Patrick Dolan of Austin, Texas, and Misty McGee and husband, Mark; grandchildren, Eli Russell, Luke Russell, Daniel Maxwell and wife, Morgan; Avery Maxwell, and Riley Maxwell; great grandchildren, Forrest, Binnie, and Ellie; and a host of extended family members and friends, who will miss her and cherish her memory.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Tommie Garner, beloved husband, Charles Monroe Russell, and sister Nancy.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 4, 2026, at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, 75013.
The family will receive guests during a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013 prior to the graveside service.
