IN LOVING MEMORY

Donna Domalewski

Jun 17 1940 - Dec 09 2010

Donna Domalewski, of Fairview, Texas, passed away on December 9, 2010. Donna Domalewski was born to Janina and Martin Majzner in Poland on June 17, 1940. She is survived by her two children, Richard and Theresa, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Donna’s early childhood was spent in Poland and Germany in the midst of turbulent WWII. In 1951, when Donna was ten, the family immigrated to the US and settled in Chicago. Early times were tough growing up in the city where the first home found itself in the basement of the family’s sponsors. By hard work and family support, Donna was able to graduate from St. Columbkille High School of Business and worked in various secretarial positions. It’s during this time that she met the love of her life and future husband, Fred. They were soon married upon his completion of his tour in the army and settled for family life of their own in Des Plaines, Illinois. Donna and Fred loved to travel, dance, and party with friends and family. They were both very devoted to their children and grandchildren. Donna kept a pristine home for her family and devoted her time as mother and wife. Eventually, they moved to Bloomingdale, Illinois where tragedy struck. Fred was diagnosed with cancer and was gone within several weeks. Donna sold their home and moved to Fairview, Texas to be near her sisters and brother and his family. She bought a home in Heritage Ranch in Fairview where she was known as one of “The Sisters”. Here she loved to participate in various activities and touched the hearts of many residents. She fell in love with St. Jude’s Parish in Allen and was drawn even closer to a spiritual life after a beautiful experience in a CRHP retreat. However, she missed her children and grandchildren, and moved back to Chicago. After two years, her health began to decline. She moved back to Texas to live with her sister Zofia. She will be remembered as the cheerful, fun loving, warm friend, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Funeral services in Texas, will be held on Monday, December 13, 2010, 12:00 p.m., at St. Jude Catholic Church, in Allen, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 14, at St. Isidore’s Catholic Church in Bloomingdale, Illinois. A short visitation will be held prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements in Chicago are under the direction of Salerno Funeral Home Rosedale Chapel, 630-889-1700.
