Donald F. Moorehead, Jr. passed away on April 30, 2022, in Allen, Texas. He was 71 years old. Donald was born September 1, 1950, to Donald Francis Moorehead, Sr. and Evelyn Moorehead in Chicago, Illinois. He grew up in the Chicago area before receiving his bachelor’s degree from the University of Tulsa. Shortly after, Donald went to work in the waste business, starting up several of his own waste management companies. Over his career he was inducted into the Environmental Industry Association Hall of Fame (June 1998). Donald was an avid golfer and an absolute movie buff, who loved seeing movies in the theater. Donald’s dream was to travel the world; he was able to visit over 120 countries. His family remembers him as a loving husband, caring father and Poppy, and successful businessman, with an adventurous spirit. Donald was a strong believer in the Christian faith.

Donald is survived by his loving wife, Ramona Moorehead; (3) children: Don P. Moorehead (Cassidy), Evan W. Moorehead (Katherine), and Carrie Lee Leuci (Tony); (2) stepchildren: Matthew Fedel (Emily), Lindsey Staley (Alex); (10) grandchildren: Hannah, Isaiah, Sarah, Dylan, Elliot, Vince, Nora, Eliza, Josiah, Emmalyn, and one on the way; (4) siblings: George Moorehead, Dale Moorehead, Linda Moorehead, and Lewis Moorehead; special family friend, Norma Stachura;  many other loving family and friends; and also his beloved four legged companion, Hershey. 

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Sr. and Evelyn Moorehead.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Saturday, May 7, 2022, thirty minutes prior to the service at the funeral home.
