Donald Lee Stovall

Donald L. Stovall of Allen, Texas passed away on March 1, 2004, at Baylor Hospital after a lengthy battle with kidney disease. Don was born January 7, 1933 in Humphreys, Missouri to David and Nell Stovall. He attended high school in Benton, Arkansas and graduated in 1959 from SMU School of Engineering. Don was a US veteran of the Korean War. After graduation Don pursued his career in the scientific technology field before establishing his own residential appraisal firm in Dallas. Based on his keen interest in aeronautics, Don built and flew his own experimental airplane for which he received numerous national awards. He officiated athletic competitions at both high school and college levels for 17 years. As a result of deteriorating health, Don continued his interest in aeronautics by crafting and flying RC models planes. Through this newfound hobby he acquired many new friends with similar interest. Don is survived by his wife of 50 years, Clara, and sisters, Beverly Felice and Judy Nozdo both of Syracuse, New York and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 9, 2004, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Tom Gandy officiating.
