Capt. Donald G. Robertshaw, U.S.N. (Ret.), age 82, of McKinney, Texas, passed away February 17, 2017. Donald was born June 13, 1934, in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, to George and Jeanie (Valance) Robertshaw. He married Dianna Lynn Weber on November 17, 1979, in San Diego, California. Donald proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict. He retired in 1988 after thirty-seven years of service. Donald was a past VFW Commander in Knoxville, Pennsylvania as well as a volunteer at the VA Hospital Nursing Home in both Bath, New York and Bonham, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Dianna Robertshaw of McKinney, Texas; children, Cathy Gomez and husband, Ted, Val Robertshaw and Blanche, Scott Robertshaw and wife, Tracy, and Lee Robertshaw and wife, Kathy, all of California, Steve Mather and wife, Penny and Robert Mather and wife, Karla, all of Texas; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; niece, Lana Forte of Boston, Massachusetts; and nephew, Pete Robertshaw, also of Boston.
His Sea Daddy, Jack Bell and wife, Ruth who preceded him in death. Donald is also survived by Jack and Ruth’s children, Judy, Candy, Linda and Johnny.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Burt, Art, and Bob Robertshaw, and sister, Jean Robertshaw.
Donald will receive a military burial at sea.
