Donald Franklyn Heiden

Donald Franklyn “Frank” Heiden, 70, of Plano, Texas passed away May 22, 2018, after his long battle with brain cancer.  He was born January 29, 1948, to Don and Mary Heiden in Cleveland, Ohio.  At the age of three, he moved to Tucson, Arizona where he lived for twelve years, until moving to Plano, Texas in 1963.  Frank graduated from Plano High School in 1966 and then attended Texas A&M Commerce. He married Debra Huetson on July 11, 1969, in Denison, Texas and they were happily married for 48 years. Throughout his career he worked as a software engineer for Rockwell Collins, Alcatel, VA Communications and GTL Corporation. Frank was an avid outdoorsman; he especially loved to hunt, fish, and work on his cars.  He had a great love for baseball and was always cheering on his grandsons at their games.

Frank is survived by his wife, Debbie Heiden of Plano, Texas; daughters, Angela Holzer and husband Greg of Allen, Texas;  Heather Vinas and husband Fred, Jr. of Sachse, Texas; grandchildren, Cameron and Alex Holzer; brothers, Kit and Shaun Heiden of Garland, Texas; sister, Kathryn Schultz of Sherman, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be on Monday, May 28, 2018, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. The Chaplet of Divine Mercy will begin at 12:30 pm followed by the funeral at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Plano, Texas.

Memorials may be made to either the North Texas Food Bank or Samaritan Inn, Inc.
