Donald Eugene Paschal, Sr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 12, 2022, at the age of 93. He was born on February 7, 1929, in Dallas, Texas to Mount Lankford Paschal, Sr. and Ruth May (Bailey) Paschal.
Donald longed to be reunited with his bride of seventy-three years, Ida Ruth (Smith) Paschal, who he missed greatly since her passing in 2019. They were married in Dallas, Texas on March 22, 1946. Reunited at last, they are worshiping together at the feet of Jesus.
Donald loved his family greatly, and he showed it through working hard to provide for their needs. Donald and Ruth raised three sons, and while they are all very different, Donald and Ruth instilled similar values. Donald was proud of his three sons, and often gave credit to Ruth for their Christian upbringing. Anyone, however, who knows the Paschal brothers can see some of Donald’s best traits that were clearly instilled in them—a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and responsibility to home, God, and work. He often helped others through sweat equity and he could seemingly fix just about anything.
He was a loyal employee of Safeway, where he worked as a driver for over 35 years. He was proud of his strong safety record and relationships he built with other drivers over the years.
Donald is survived by his sons, Don Paschal, Jr. and wife, Janice of McKinney, Texas, Terry Paschal and wife, Sandi of Pottsboro, Texas, and Greg Paschal and wife, Nancy of Garland, Texas; grandchildren, Lori Winters and husband, David of McKinney, Texas, Jeff Paschal and wife, Robin of Plano, Texas, Clay Paschal and wife, Hailey of McKinney, Texas, Dustin Paschal and wife, Lindsay of Frisco, Texas, Katie Buchanan and husband, Kyle of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Grace Paschal of Garland, Texas; great-grandchildren, Preston, Brayden, and Wescott (due in September) Paschal; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Ruth (Smith) Paschal, parents, Mount Lankford Paschal, Sr. and Ruth May Paschal, and his siblings, Mount Lankford Paschal, Jr., Martha Ann Little, and Howard Wayne Paschal and a great grandson, Wade Paschal.
A visitation will be held from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Thursday, June 23, 2022, followed by the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m., both at the Georgetown Baptist Church, 207 Georgetown Road, Pottsboro, Texas 75076. Interment will follow at the Georgetown Cemetery, Pottsboro, Texas 75076.
