IN LOVING MEMORY

Donald "Don" Eastman

Jun 10 1936 - Jun 19 2026

Donald “Don” Eastman, born June 10, 1936, in Murphysboro, Illinois, passed away on June 19, 2026, shortly after celebrating his 90th birthday. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great‑grandfather, and friend, Don lived a life marked by love, service, adventure, and unwavering faith.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Irene Eastman; his sisters, Norma Jean (Hudson) and Betty (Fritz); and his son‑in‑law, Tim Laughlin. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Lois (Green) Eastman; his daughters Julie (Coleman) and her partner Jim Daywalt, and Jill (Laughlin). He leaves behind five grandchildren—Ryan (Jenna), Eric (Sarah), Quinn (Jacque), Brennan (Lindsey), and Jillian (Brennan)—as well as two great‑grandchildren, Eloise and Thomas, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.

Raised in Southern Illinois, Don developed a lifelong love of the outdoors. Hunting and fishing were more than hobbies—they were part of who he was. After graduating high school, he attended Southern Illinois University (SIU), where he met the love of his life, Lois. Their marriage became the foundation of a rich and fulfilling life together.

Following college, Don proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Air Navigator. His service included deployment to Midway Island, where he patrolled the Distant Early Warning (DEW) line, and time stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. He completed his military service as a Lieutenant Junior Grade before beginning a distinguished 31‑year career with Mobil Oil (now ExxonMobil). His work took the family across the country—Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Allentown, Cherry Hill, and Moorestown—before ultimately settling in North Texas in 1984, a place Don considered his true home. He retired on August 1, 1994, as District Sales Manager for Texas.

A proud Texan, Don, was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan and an enthusiastic supporter of the Texas Longhorns. He and Lois shared many passions throughout their marriage, including a love of travel and a shared enjoyment of golf. Whether playing together or watching tournaments, golf was one of the many ways they connected, relaxed, and made memories over the years. Their travels abroad—especially to Europe—were among their greatest joys, with Rome and the Vatican holding special meaning for Don as a devout Catholic.

Don was also the family photographer, capturing decades of memories through slideshows and DVDs set to music. His daughter Julie carries on this treasured tradition, preserving the family’s history with the same care and creativity he modeled.

Though his family is now spread across the country—from Minneapolis and Chicago to Little Rock and Bluffton—Don’s heart remained closely connected to each of them. He was known for his humor, storytelling, quiet strength, and deep devotion to those he loved.

Don’s legacy is one of faith, family, and a life lived with purpose. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., July 31, 2026 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
