IN LOVING MEMORY

Donald "Don" Bruce Cummins

Apr 26 1938 - Oct 13 2017

Donald Bruce Cummins went home to be with his Savior on October 13, 2017. He was born on April 26, 1938 to Roy and Louise Cummins in Denison, Texas. Donald Bruce Cummins was larger than life and he lived that way. The legacy he leaves behind through his family is a life of loving well. In times of ease and prosperity to times of great trial and physical illness, he loved richly and lived life to its fullest. In work, life and family he was known for investing in relationships and valued people above worldly possessions and those that had the honor of knowing him, knew they were loved and cherished.  Don’s greatest love was his faithful wife and best friend of 57 years, Mary Nelle Cummins. His greatest pride was his 10 grandchildren that he invested deeply in and cheered on every day of their lives. While his accomplishments in his college basketball career, service to our country as a Marine and career in medical sales were many, in his eyes they paled in comparison to the importance of his family and friends. Don was a member of First United Methodist Church in McKinney, Texas.

He was preceded in Heaven by his sister, Molly Cummins; parents, Roy and Louise Cummins; and his dearly loved son, Stephen Bruce Cummins.

Don is survived by his faithful wife, Mary Nelle Cummins of McKinney; daughters, Diane Cummins and wife, Julie Eddleman of Cincinnati, Ohio, Donna Floyd and husband, Jim of Ft. Worth, Texas; daughter-in-love, Tracee Cummins of Ft. Worth, Texas; grandsons, James Floyd, William Floyd, Sam Cummins, Logan Keil and Justin Woodard; granddaughters, Annie Cummins, MaryAshton Floyd, Molly Cummins-Freund, Maddie Cummins-Freund and Sydney Keil.

Our family would like to express our gratefulness to Ruth Stull, for her devoted care and friendship over the last 4 years.
