IN LOVING MEMORY

Don Chiavetta

Apr 02 1936 - Oct 21 2016

Don Chiavetta of Plano, Texas passed away October 21, 2016, at the age of 80.  He was born April 2, 1936, to Joseph P. Chiavetta and Frances (Mordeno) Chiavetta in Brant, New York.  Don married the love of his life, Patricia “Pat” Wright, on November 10, 1956, in Olean, New York.

Don was an active volunteer with Medical Center of Plano's cardiac rehab gym, and he eagerly worked the election polls. He was passionate about coaching A Matter of Balance classes and helping his peers learn how to continue living independently.

Don was a true family patriarch -- fiercely dedicated to providing for and protecting his family. He was our biggest advocate, pushing each of us to be our very best. We are a tight-knit, strong, and loving unit because of his example.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Pat Chiavetta of Plano, Texas; daughter, Linda Holland and husband Marty; daughter-in-law, Vicki Chiavetta; grandchildren, Megan Copenhaver and husband Benson, Amy Holland and wife Autumn Nicholson, Stefani Forrest and boyfriend Charles Wickersham, Allison Holland, and Matthew Holland and wife Tanya; great-granddaughters, Lily Forrest and Trinity Wickersham of Garland, Texas; and a host of other loving family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his son, Duane D. Chiavetta; sister, Mary Muscato; and brother, Louis Chiavetta.

Our family wants to thank his many friends for their prayers, well wishes, and support. Don was an amazing man who brought joy to everyone who knew him. We are all better people because he was in our lives.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas.
