Don David Schultz, age 88, of Frisco, Texas passed away on January 10, 2023. He was born on March 28, 1934, to Helen May (Carlson) and Walter Frank Schultz in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
After graduating from Shawnee Mission High School in Kansas City, Don attended the University of Kansas and was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He received a degree in Geological engineering in 1956 and immediately began his career with Phillips Petroleum Company. Over the 39 years that Don continued to work at Phillips, he lived in 26 different locations until he retired in Houston, Texas in 1995.
Don met the love of his life, Leslie in Palo Alto, California and they were married in 1968. Don’s greatest love in life were his family and friends. His retirement years were filled with many friends, many rounds of golf, and fun and exciting travels. He served on the board of Briarwood Country Club in Sun City West, Arizona and served as chairman for one final year before they moved to Frisco to be near their family. Don will always be remembered as a gentleman through and through. He never met a stranger and was kind and loving to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Don is survived by his daughter, Lisa Hutchinson and her husband, Chuck, of Frisco, Texas; his two grandchildren, Grant Hutchinson and his wife, Lauren of Ardmore, Oklahoma, and Garrett Hutchinson of Frisco, Texas.
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Leslie Carol Schultz, and his parents, Helen and Walter Schultz.
The family will be observing a small gathering at Lisa’s home to celebrate the beautiful life of such a loving husband, father, and friend to everyone he met.
