Dixie Lee Belous

December 26, 1937 - May 31, 2013

Dixie Lee Belous, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on May 31, 2013 at the age of 75. She was born on December 26, 1937, in Waterville, Minnesota, to Donald and Lucille (Rickard) Ellingworth. On December 16, 1957, Dixie married William “Bill” Gary Belous, in Yankton, South Dakota. She was past president of the PEO Organization in McKinney. Dixie was an avid bridge player.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Belous of McKinney; son, Mark Belous of McKinney; daughter, Cindy Belous Garrison and husband Brad of Flower Mound, Texas; grandchildren, April Lynn Belous, Cody Garrison and Jeremy Garrison; brother, Ross Ellingworth of Bettendorf, Iowa; sister, Paula Bushee of Pine River Minnesota; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.

Dixie is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Lucille Ellingworth; brothers, Donald Ellingworth Jr. and Malyn Ellingworth; and two, infant sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation being held Tuesday evening, beginning at 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

I got to know Dixie through the Allen Americans. Such a sweet and kind person that when I left I never forgot her.
