Diane Perez Houg passed away April 24, 2022 in McKinney, Texas at the age of 72. She was born to Eduardo J. and Petra (Guerra) Perez, III on February 3, 1950 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Diane was a follower of Jesus Christ, and she loved her grandchildren. After a successful career working for Coors brewing company in Golden, CO and the Rocky Flats manufacturing plant, she eventually moved to North Dallas to be near her grandkids. Diane was committed to attending almost all of Emma’s and Alec’s events, including cheer competitions, baseball games and various school-related events. She rarely missed an event.
Diane loved to sew and was a member of the Nifty Needles sewing club at Heritage Ranch, the community in which she lived. She was athletic, competing as a high school athlete (Arvada West) as a swimmer. Her strongest event was the butterfly stroke. She also loved to play softball and golf.
She was especially proud of achieving a Bachelor’s degree in Business at the University of Denver while working as a full-time professional.
Diane is survived by her son, Douglas Edward Gilreath of Sachse, Texas; daughter, Nicole Shilene Miksa and husband, Chris of Lucas, Texas; grandchildren, Emma Nicole and Alec James Miksa of Lucas, Texas; mother, Pat Perez of Wheat Ridge, Colorado; brother, Eduardo J. Perez, IV and wife, Jing Lu of Golden, Colorado; and brother, Danny Perez and wife, Vicki of Arvada, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her father, Eduardo “Datche” Perez; sister, Linda Crow, and brother, Ronnie Perez.
A memorial serivce will be held at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Grace Church Allen.
