Dhirubhai Chauhan, age 70, of Frisco, Texas, passed away January 31, 2012. He was born December 20, 1941 in Bardoli, Gujarat, India to Ranchodbhai and Ruxmani (Dabhi) Chauhan. On July 5, 1964, Dhirubhai married Manjula Solanki, in Mandvi, India. He was a very successful businessman as a hotel owner in New Orleans Louisiana, Atlanta Georgia, and Carnegie Oklahoma. He contributed to several charitable organizations within the US and India. In India, he contributed to an Educational Fund for underprivileged children; he also contributed to a Marriage Fund for couples that could not afford a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony. He is survived by his wife, Manjula Dhirubhai Chauhan of Frisco, Texas; daughters, Neeta Kalidas and husband Umesh of Plano, Texas, Deepa Woods and husband Max of Slidell, Louisiana; grandchildren, Rishi and Shailen Kalidas, and Taj Woods; mother Ruxmani Chauhan of New Orleans, Louisiana; brothers, Jekishanbhai and Jantibhai Chauhan; sisters, Champabhen Chauhan, Sumitrabhen Parmar, Bhartibhen Solanki, and Daxabhen Chauhan. Dhirubhai is preceded in death by his father. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, February 3, 2012, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday morning, beginning at 11:00 am.
