Funeral Services for Denzle “Cotton” Cummings, 94 year old Leonard resident, are scheduled for 2:00PM Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church of Leonard. Rev. Joe Gist will officiate. Family viewing and visitation will be Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 1:00PM until service time at the church fellowship hall. Burial will be in the Leonard Cemetery. There will be no graveside service.

Denzle was born November 25, 1923 in the Snow Hill Community, north of Bonham. His parents were William Herman and Eva Magers Cummings. He was a graduate of the Leonard ISD, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Leonard and worked as a rancher, farmer and dairyman. He passed away at his residence Sunday, January 7, 2018.

Denzle is survived by his wife: Jacqueline Cummings of Leonard; his son and daughter-in-law: Glenn and Terri Cummings of Leonard; his daughter: Donna Woodruff of Leonard and long time friend, Ricky Ross of Bailey; his five grandchildren: Valerie Watkins and Andrea Eades, both of Leonard, Minh and Josephine Nguyen, both of Houston and Tommie Davis of Celeste; his three great-grandchildren: Hailey Noller of Belton and Brendan Eades and Tristan Woodruff, both of Leonard. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
