Dennis Rex Williamson, age 57, of Grapevine, Texas, passed away July 13, 2016. Dennis was born January 18, 1959, in Spur, Texas, to Jackie and Vada Mae (Smith) Williamson. He grew up in Lubbock, Texas, where he graduated from Monterey High School in 1977. He married Jill DeAnn Pendergrass on March 21, 1993, in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Family was the most important part of his life. Dennis worked for OneSource Communications as a central office operations manager for over ten years where he loved his work as well as the people he worked with. He loved sports specifically the Dallas Cowboys, the Dallas Mavericks, the Texas Rangers, the Texas Tech Red Raiders, and Dennis loved the state of Texas. Dennis was a member of Compass Christian Church in Colleyville, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Jill Williamson of Grapevine, Texas; children, Leslie Horton and husband, Jerrod of Austin, Texas and Alec Williamson of Lubbock, Texas; grandson, Dexter Horton; mother, Vada White and husband, Chris also of Lubbock; sister, Christy Matticks and husband, Bryan of Euless, Texas; brother, Jerry Williamson and wife, Kellie, of Carrollton, Texas; sister-in-law, Kari Williamson of Plano, Texas; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jackie Williamson and brother, Barry Williamson.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.
