Delbert Lyman Rogers

Delbert Lyman Rogers, age 76, of McKinney, Texas, passed away February 11, 2010, in McKinney. Delbert was born October 13, 1933, in Mesa, Arizona, to Lyman H. and Clara E. (Fuller) Rogers. He married Vergie Ann Speed on January 20, 1959, in Mesa, Arizona. Delbert served in the Gulf States Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1956 to 1958. He graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor and Master Degree in Education. Delbert was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, McKinney Third Ward. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Vergie Rogers of McKinney, Texas; four sons, Scott Rogers and wife, Janette of Mt. Pleasant, Utah, Jeff Rogers and wife, Nancy of Plano, Texas, Rainey Rogers and wife, Tammy of McKinney, and P.J. Rogers and wife, Lori of Seoul, S. Korea; three daughters, LaRonna Peeples and husband, Phillip of McKinney, Texas, Deana Jones and husband, Steve of Layton, Utah, and Phoebe Hall and husband, Lance of Frisco, Texas: 35 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Harold Rogers and wife, Dana of Orem, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 15, 2010, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, McKinney Stake Center, 2801 W. Eldorado Pkwy in McKinney. Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 7:00 p.m., Sunday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
