Delaney Shae Murphy of Allen, Texas passed away from heart failure at a Dallas hospital on August 2, 2023 at the age of 32. She was born in Dallas on March 31, 1991. Delaney was raised in Allen and graduated from Allen High School in 2009. She received a degree in Biblical Studies from Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas where she was able to travel internationally to give her testimony and minister in area churches and on the streets of Brazil, Europe and New Orleans, Louisiana. Delaney was 3 courses away from obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Dallas Baptist University. Delaney’s dream was to open an addiction recovery home for women and eventually a sober living home that included Christian Biblical teaching, worship, counseling, housemate mutual accountability, work, household chores, fun, love and acceptance. She had begun writing up her vision and was planning to call the ministry “Serendipity.”
Delaney had previously worked at Advantage Academy in Duncanville in Human Resources, as well as a house manager at a sober living ministry in Richardson. Delaney loved people and seemed to never meet a stranger. She was drawn to the hurting or the underdog. She enjoyed woodworking, fishing, playing the drums, praise and worship and country music, as well as spending time with her grandparents, family and friends. Delaney loved her baby girl Isabella (her Bella Boo, her Sunshine) most of all!
Delaney is survived by her 23 month, daughter, Isabella Murphy; parents, Sherri Busalacchi and stepfather, Joseph of Allen; sister, Lindsay Cross and husband, Daniel of Plano; brother, Michael Busalacchi of Little Elm; nephews, Matthew Busalacchi, Theodore and Harrison Cross; grandparents, Dr. Allen and Patricia Beck of Duncanville; father, Patrick P.
