Debra Jo "Debby" Keown, a resident of Plano, Texas, peacefully passed away on February 20, 2024, at the age of 69. She was born on November 14, 1954, in East Chicago, Indiana, to loving parents Edward Anthony Surufka and Delores (Muha) Surufka.

Debby graduated from Bishop Noll Institute in 1972, where she laid the foundation for a life of compassion and service. On May 8, 1976, she exchanged vows with the love of her life, Gary Lynn Keown, in East Chicago. Debby began her professional journey in the banking industry, where she dedicated many years before transitioning to focus on her cherished family.

A devoted wife and mother, Debby poured her heart and soul into nurturing her loved ones. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support created a home filled with love and laughter.

Outside of her family, Debby found joy in pursuing her passions. She had a talent for glass working, creating intricate pieces that captured the beauty of her imagination. Her green thumb was evident in her vibrant garden, where she cultivated life and beauty with every bloom. Arts and crafts were a source of creativity and relaxation for Debby, where she poured her heart into every project. However, it was her love for shopping that truly ignited her spirit, finding joy in the hunt for the perfect treasures.

Debby leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know and love her.

Debby is survived by her beloved husband, Gary Keown of Plano, Texas; sons, Randall Edward Keown of Plano, Texas and Daniel Scott Keown of Denton, Texas; brother, David Surufka and wife, Christine of Whiting, Indiana; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family members and cherished friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Keown; parents, Edward and Delores Surufka; and brother, Timothy Surufka.
