Deborah Anne Landers of Little Elm, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, at the age of 72. She was born on October 21, 1952, in Paris, Texas, to her loving parents, William Smith and Barbara (Marshall) Smith.
Debbie lived a life centered around family, faith, and service to others. She married the love of her life, Stephen Landers of Dallas, Texas, on July 1, 1972, and together they built a life filled with love, joy, and dedication.
A devoted Baptist, Debbie was a woman of strong faith. She graduated from Richardson High School and pursued higher education at both UT Dallas and Louisiana Tech University. Her passion for education led her to serve as an educator at Bowman Middle School in Plano, Little Elm High School, and Plano Senior High School, where she touched countless young lives with her wisdom and kindness.
Debbie was a proud member of the Richardson Huddlettes and an alumna of Alpha Chi Omega. She had a deep love for gardening and cooking, found joy in attending her grandchildren’s events, and cherished time visiting with friends. Debbie never met a stranger and will be remembered for her warm smile, her bubbly laugh, her silly jokes, her generous heart, and her unwavering support for those she loved.
Deborah is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Stephen Landers of Little Elm, Texas; her beloved children, daughter Sandra Landers of McKinney, Texas, and son Robert Landers and his wife Esther of Dallas, Texas; and her treasured grandsons, William “Buster” Landers and Matthew “Matty” Landers, both of Dallas. She is also survived by her brother, Scott Smith and his wife Debbie of Fort Worth, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Barbara Smith.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 21, 2025 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
