IN LOVING MEMORY

Dean Dennington

Dec 26 1930 - Feb 23 2015

Willis Dean Dennington, 84, was welcomed into the presence of Jesus on Monday, February 23, 2015 at his home in Lewisville, TX. Dean was born in Parma, Missouri on December 26, 1930 to Orville and Lola Tais Dennington. He married his high school sweetheart, Euda Lorine Edge, on December 28, 62 years ago.

Dean served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, had a successful career as a financial advisor, served as President of the Board of Memorial Hospital, and was a much loved Sunday school teacher and Boy Scout leader.

Everyone who knew Dean understands that all his titles, positions, and achievements don’t begin to describe the true legacy he leaves behind. The fingerprints of his life are everywhere. All those who’ve been touched by him carry the lasting impact of his grace, his kindness, his generosity, his thoughtfulness … and his smile.

The devotion Dean displayed for his family and friends is testimony to the treasure of his heart. Nothing on earth was more precious than these relationships. Whether it was tossing around a softball, putting live bait on a hook, helping with science fair projects, faithfully attending (enduring) all the sports and music activities, stepping up for carpool duty, trash-talking through a game of Dirty Hearts, sitting in the passenger seat for driving lessons, or pulling a stint as chairman of the PTA, Dean poured his life into the ones he loved. He was the “sweetest man who ever lived” to his beloved wife, and hero to all his children and grandchildren. This is his powerful legacy, one that will continue to have an impact for generations to come.

Dean is survived by his wife, Lorine, his children Gary (Monica) Dennington of Phoenix, AZ, Gregg (Eva) Dennington of Toufen, Taiwan and Deborah Dennington of Lewisville, TX, his sister, Anna E. Mincher of Sacramento, CA, his grandchildren Alyssa, Erica, Abigail, China and Harrison and his great-grandchildren Emma, Zoe, Claire, Mia and Aryn. In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by his brothers, Orville Dennington and Lowren Dennington, and his grandson, Eryn Dennington.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you send donations to Prestonwood Student Missions, 6801 West Park Blvd., Plano, TX 75093 or the Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead in Overland Park, KS.

Visitation will be at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Frisco on Sunday, March 1, 2015 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at DFW National Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
