David Drew Thompson of Plano, Texas passed away on May 21, 2021 at the age of 78 after a long illness. He died in his home with his wife at the bedside and her son, Steven. He was born on April 8, 1943 to Lionel and Delores (Hathway) Thompson in Beloit, Wisconsin. He married Anne McDermott Incontrera on June 8, 2007 in Plano, Texas. Previously, David was married to Alice Flink Thompson who died in 2003. David graduated from the University of Michigan with a doctorate degree in engineering. He worked in research and development at ARCO which later was purchased by BP Oil Industry. He was very successful in his career earning many awards for his creativity.
He was a devoted husband and father. He loved to travel. He is known for his kindness and patience.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Thompson of Plano, Texas; daughter, Julie Ann Thompson of Minneapolis Minnesota; brothers, Stephen Thompson and wife, Sheila of Anderson, South Carolina and Mark Thompson and wife, Jill of Petoskey, Michigan; and numerous other loving family and friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Alice Flink Thompson.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
