David William McCampbell

March 27, 1958 - April 14, 2021

David William McCampbell of Richardson, Texas passed away on April 14, 2021 at the age of 63. He was born on March 27, 1958 to William R. and Jane (Durrstein) McCampbell in Battle Creek, Michigan.  David attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio for his double bachelor’s degree in Accountancy and Finance.  After graduating, he moved to San Antonio and got a job as an auditor.  He traveled all over Texas as an auditor and met his wife at a company he was auditing.  They married in 1986 and together they had 2 daughters who they loved deeply.  When his daughters were young, David took them on Indian Princesses trips through the YMCA.  David’s name, given by his daughters was “Yellow Star”.  He loved his University of Michigan sports teams and also loved baseball and all the stats that come along with it.  David and his wife traveled the country and met a lot of dear friends as a part of BOMA.  David could talk in depth about most all wars and other events in history.  He loved watching the history channel.  His favorite sports were hockey, baseball, and getting his shuteye in while enjoying golf.  David was a fantastic husband to his wife, father to his daughters, and Papa to his grandchildren.  He will be deeply missed, but his memory cherished by all that knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Karrie Sue McCampbell of Richardson, Texas; daughter, Kailie R. Quigly and husband, Brian of Garland, Texas; daughter, Ashlea E. McCampbell of Richardson, Texas; grandsons, Carson and Kellan; sister, Mary Metzger of Naples, Florida; brother, Robert McCampbell of Fishers, Indiana; and numerous other loving family and friends.
