David Wallace Partin Jr. passed away on August 17, 2026. Dave was born at the US Army Hospital in Bad Kreuznach, Germany to Joyce Aline (Stanley) Partin and David Wallace Partin on June 16, 1959. He moved frequently as an “Army Brat” and lived in Germany, Hawaii, and many states within the United States. Dave graduated from Carlisle High School in Carlisle, Pennsylvania in 1977. He attended the University of Arizona and studied Computer and Electrical Engineering. On January 17, 1981 he married Jan Elizabeth Soukup in Tucson, Arizona.
Dave was a jack of all trades and master of many. He excelled as a pizza chef in one of his first jobs, then a tool and die technician for an aluminum extrusion plant, a large appliance repairman, and as a support technician for Datavision Security Systems in Phoenix, Arizona where he designed a computer system used to control and monitor the polling network. His design of the computer system got him recognized by the parent company in Dallas, Texas. David and his growing family relocated to Dallas in 1992. After his interview with Datavision Dave never had to apply for a job again as the companies kept being acquired by other companies. Datavision became Smart Protect which then became Westinghouse Security Systems that led to ATX Technologies and finally the connected vehicle division of Sirius XM that provided telematics and safety platforms for major automakers. At each transition to a new company the understanding was they couldn’t lose Dave Partin. He retired in August of 2022 as the Vice President of Research and Development.
As a young man Dave was active in AAU swimming, boy scouting, snow skiing, golf, band, and ROTC. He earned the Order of the Arrow honor in scouting and was proud of the Swiss Bronze in skiing he achieved at Kandersteg, Germany.
As a husband and father Dave enjoyed camping in his younger years and cruising when grandchildren came into the picture. The family often ventured to Broken Bow, Oklahoma to spend time at the cabins. Family parties around the backyard pool and in later years the patio will always be remembered. Dave was also an avid RPG (Role Playing Game) gamer.
David leaves behind his wife Jan of 45 years, his daughter Christine and her husband, Brian McClusky and their two daughters, Madisyn and Emelyn of Prosper, Texas, his son, David and his wife, Kathlyn (Ramsey) Partin and their son, Ewan of The Colony, Texas, and his daughter, Jennifer and her husband, Kevin Black and their daughter, Alex of Inverness, Scotland.
He will forever be in our hearts.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 19, 2026 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.
