David Dickerman of Murphy, Texas passed away at home after a long battle with cancer, at age 73. He was a kind soul who was taken much too soon, and will be cherished in the hearts and memories of his family and friends, his legacy will live on in his children and grandchildren.
David was born in Denison Texas on November 9, 1949, to Robert and Kathryn (Neinast) Dickerman. He graduated from Lamar High School in 1967 and earned a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of North Texas. He worked for Texas Instruments for 25 years and Raytheon for 15 years until retirement.
David leaves behind his wife, Carol. Since their marriage in 1979 they have lived in California and Colorado before settling in Texas.
David was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Kathryn Dickerman. He is survived by his wife Carol. Son, James Dickerman and significant other, Carmen Flatt, her two children and James’ ex-wife Kendall and their son. Daughter, Michelle Dickerman, and significant other Paul Duston and their three children. Also, David’s siblings Robert (Bobby) Dickerman, Gary Michael Dickerman, Stanley Dickerman, Penny Jo Miller as well as a host of other loving family and friends.
David served in the Air Force for 7 years before changing his career path but maintained his strong love of country and family. He was a family man who enjoyed spending time with extended family and being surrounded by his grandchildren.
David was a talented handyman with a sense of humor, he loved sports, especially baseball and football, but most of all he loved his dogs. Animals always played an important role in his life.
David’s hobbies included home projects, making videos, keeping up with the family on social media, playing the lottery, he also enjoyed collecting items for his Christmas town and train set.
To this country you gave your service; to your family you gave your love. We thank you; we honor you; we will miss you, but we will not say goodbye as we will meet again.
