David Curtis Luhring

David Curtis Luhring, age 58, of Plano, Texas, passed away September 3, 2009, in Plano. David was born in Washington, D.C. to Curtis C. and Evelyn (Nieman) Luhring. He married Gloria Gonzalez on September 24, 1973 in Richardson, Texas. After graduation, David served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, David attended Southern Methodist University and obtained his bachelor degree in engineering. He worked thirty-six years for Texas Instruments/Raytheon. David had a passion for motorcycles and music and was a member of the Ray Riders. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Luhring of Plano, Texas; son, Andrew David Luhring and his wife, Erin also of Plano, Texas; daughter, Elizabeth Christine Tranka and her husband, Ronald of McKinney, Texas; sister, Elsie Clark and her husband, Jay of St. Paul, Minnesota; brother-in-law, Arturo Gonzalez and his wife, Rosie of San Simon, Arizona; sisters-in-law, Raquel Deerwester and her husband, Robert of Tucson, Arizona and Alicia Fata and her husband, Iraj of Santa Clara, California; mother-in-law, Esther Gonzalez of San Simon, Arizona; grandson, Evan Luhring; and granddaughters, Emma Tranka, Camryn Carnal, and Shelby Luhring. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M., Sunday, September 6, 2009, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Pastor Blair Ritchey officiating.
