IN LOVING MEMORY

David Kurt Heidmann

Dec 30 1972 - Nov 30 2024

David Kurt Heidmann went into the presence of the Lord on November 30, 2024, in Plano, Texas. He was born on December 30, 1972, in Whittier, California, to Walter Johann Heidmann and Gean Trimble. He married Kimberlee Heidmann on August 29, 1998, in College Station, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Kimberlee Heidmann of Plano, Texas; his sons, Walter Johann “Jack” Heidmann, and Charles Augustine “Gus” Heidmann; his mother, Gean Heidmann of Austin, Texas; his brothers, John Heidmann and wife, Amy, of Orlando, Florida, and Mark Heidmann and wife, Shanna, of Austin, Texas; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Kurt is preceded in death by his daughter, Lottie Heidmann and his father, Walter Heidmann.

In August of 2023, following numerous tests and visits to specialists, Kurt was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, a disease where the lung tissue becomes scarred and unusable at the cellular level. The disease was a result of a genetic variant and there was no curative therapy. For the last 15 months Kurt faithfully took his medications, attended his appointments, and subjected himself to lots of tests, imaging, blood work and more tests. But even so, the disease moved aggressively in his body.

On Wednesday before Thanksgiving, Kurt had a terrible desaturation episode and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. Over the next few days, the wonderful doctors and nurses of Baylor Plano took excellent care of him and worked valiantly to restore his ability to breathe without support.

However, it was not God's plan for him to return to our earthly home. On Saturday, November 30th at about 8pm Kurt's body finally gave in to the suffering. He breathed his last and went into the presence of the Lord.

We are thankful that the boys and I, along with our family and close friends, were able to be with him in his last days. He read scripture with us and prayed over us lovingly.

Kurt Heidmann trusted in Christ and was a true disciple- understanding his sinfulness and his need for a Savior - not only trusting in the redemptive work of Jesus but dedicating his life to following Him. Because of this, goodbye is only for a little while. The promise of eternity with our Savior is real and our hope rests there.

Kurt is now safely home with his dad, Walt, and our Lottie. Every day since her death he longed for her and now his wait is over. Kurt is completely healed and complete in Christ. Praise God.

The memorial service will be held on Monday, December 16th at 2:00pm in the main worship center at Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco, TX (4801 Legendary Drive, Frisco, TX 75034).
