David Gene Dowling, Jr., age 67, passed away April 29, 2025, in McKinney, Texas. He was born on November 20, 1957, in Merlin, Oregon, to his loving parents David Gene Dowling and Nancy Jo (Brown) Dowling.
David grew up in Texas and graduated from Dallas Skyline High School in Dallas, Texas. His professional journey led him into the world of technology and finance. David worked for U.S. Bank, where he was a software engineer, and assistant vice president.
Outside of work, David had a special love with his dogs, treating them not just as pets but as beloved family members. His love for fast cars was well known among friends and family.
David is survived by his sister, Cindee O’Neal and husband Denny, of Celina, Texas; nieces, Amber Allen, and Allison Leathers; stepmother, Rosemary Dowling; stepbrothers, Steven McWilliams, and Greg McWilliams; children, Megan, Misty, and Austin; and a host of extended family members and friends, who will miss him dearly and forever cherish his memory.
David was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 5, 2025, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location. Following the funeral, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.
