David E. Scarbrough, 70, passed away at his home in Prosper, TX, with his loving wife of 50 years and family by his side on Tuesday, February 25, 2020. His life began January 16, 1950 in Knoxville, TN to the late Blaine Pleasant Scarbrough and Frankie (Cox) Scarbrough. David grew up in Tremont City, OH and graduated from Northwestern Senior High School. He later earned a degree in Applied Business. His career began in 1971 as a computer programmer with Big Bear Stores in Columbus, OH, and he successfully worked his way up the corporate ladder with various companies until he retired as a senior project manager in 2018 with Hewlett Packard. He enjoyed his time golfing, researching genealogy, traveling across the US and Great Britain, and spending time at Winstar World Casino and Resort.
He met his beloved best friend and soulmate, Kathleen (Stackhouse) Scarbrough in high school and shared a lifelong bond of love and marriage. Together, they moved from Ohio to Texas, where they raised their two daughters. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Scarbrough (Prosper, TX); daughters, Lisa Scarbrough Isaacs (McKinney, TX) and Kimberly Lynn Hardy and her husband Mark (Argyle, TX); four adoring grandchildren, Kyle, Kara, Connor, and Caden; sister, Judy Earlene Hall (Springfield, OH); brother, Michael Steven Scarbrough (Columbus, OH). David was preceded in death by his parents, Blaine and Frankie Scarbrough and his brother, Gary Lynn Scarbrough. David’s love, loyalty, and affection for his family and friends showed in everything that he did, as all can attest.
A funeral service will be held at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 8520 Main Street, Frisco, TX 75033, on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 11:00 AM with a Visitation beginning at 10:00 AM, prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow at Ridgeview West Memorial Park, 7800 Sanctuary Drive, Frisco, TX 75033.
