David Dwayne Johnson of McKinney, Texas passed away April 18, 2019 at the age of 55. He was born on August 25, 1963 to David Lee Johnson and Patsy Ruth (Hamilton) Johnson in De Leon, Texas.
David was a graduate of Plano West High School in Plano, Texas. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Amberton University in Garland, Texas.
David was very proud of his occupation as a banker, at Beal Bank in Plano, Texas for more than 18 years. He was a hard worker, dedicated, determined and ambitious, caring and generous, professional, self-disciplined and loyal to his job and friends.
David married Nelly Betancourt on September 13, 2003 in Garland, Texas. He was adventurous, enjoyed skydiving, traveling, loved life and always saw the best in people. The best time of his life was laughter and being with his family and friends. David was a man of integrity and had a heart of gold. He gave himself up to help others and he cared about other people unconditionally.
David is survived by his beloved wife of 15 years, Nelly Johnson of McKinney, Texas; sons, Bryson D. Johnson and Andre T. Johnson, both of McKinney, Texas; and mother, Patsy Johnson of Dallas, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Lee Johnson.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 27, 2019 at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 110 St. Gabriel Way, McKinney, Texas 75071. Interment is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The family will receive friends during a visitation Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. A rosary service will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
