David Franklin Cunningham, age 69, of McKinney, Texas passed away January 27, 2008, at his home. He was born December 31, 1938, in San Angelo, Texas to James Claude and Hazel (Orr) Cunningham. On April 1, 1961 he married Monya Steed in Midland, Texas. David grew up in Midland, Texas. He graduated from Midland High School and Texas A & M University with a Bachelors of Business Administration Degree. He was a member of the Texas A & M Corps of Cadets. David worked for Humble Oil and Refining Company. He founded K-C Fuel Company Inc. and Cunningham Restaurants Inc. at the age of 26 where he served as President and CEO. After selling his businesses he formed DF Cunningham Inc., a private investigations company. David served on the Board of Directors for seventeen years at 1st National Bank in Gordon, Texas and served for several years on the Gordon Development Corporation as President in Gordon, Texas. He was a member of Faith Fellowship Church, McKinney, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Monya Cunningham of McKinney, Texas; children, Michele “Missy” Clayton of McKinney, Texas; Christopher Cunningham and his wife, Amy of Mansfield, Texas; Hank Cunningham and his wife, Tina of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren, Denver Cunningham, Callie Clayton, Caden Cunningham, Hannah Cunningham and Mason Cunningham; brother, James A. Cunningham and a host of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John Michael Cunningham. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 30, 2008, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Dr. Thomas Beaty of Clifton, Texas and Pastor Rob Gore of Faith Fellowship Church in McKinney officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
