David Cooper Lair, age 87, of Celina, Texas passed away in Dallas, Texas on November 21, 2021. He was born on April 19, 1934, to C. E. and Myrtle (Cooper) Lair in Anna, Texas. On August 4, 2007, David married Lynda Register in Whitesboro, Texas. David proudly served in the United States Army and became a practicing attorney after graduation from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.
He is survived by his wife, Lynda Lair of Celina, Texas; son, Timothy O’Brien Lair and wife, Jennifer of Van Alstyne, Texas; stepson, Greg Garvey of Frisco, Texas; grandson, Robert Ryan Lair of Denton, Texas; step-grandchildren, Justin Wise and wife, Dee of Frisco, Texas, Joshua Wise and wife, Lauren of Melissa, Texas, and JaLeigh Pace and husband, Zach of Van Alstyne, Texas; sister, Lena Tucker and husband, Raymond of Whitesboro, Texas; brother, Kenneth Lair and wife, Billie of Granbury, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his wife, June O’Brien Lair; parents, C. E. and Myrtle Lair; brothers, Carl Lair Jr., Harry Lair, and John Lair; and sisters, Susie Carver, Thelma Rollins, and Kay Graves.
A visitation will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 109 S. Oklahoma Street, Celina, Texas 75009, on Friday, November 26, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Cottage Hill Cemetery, 11400 FM 2478, Celina, Texas 75009, on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Carver officiating.
