David Clarence Carter I

David Clarence Carter I, age 76, of Celina, Texas, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020.  He was born on January 16, 1944, in Frisco, Texas, to Gracie (Roberts) and Herman Clarence Carter.  David attended Frisco High School.  He married the love of his life, Virginia Sue Jackson, in Frisco on October 26, 1962, and they were blessed with three children.  David was a successful salesman in the music/musical instrument business.  He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. 

David is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia Carter; his children, Kim Rogers and her husband, Kent, of Auburn, Alabama, Gina Carter Franklin of Celina, Texas, and David Carter II and his wife, Heather, also of Celina; his grandchildren, Kyndal (Kyle) Frazier, Kara Franklin, Kelsey (Aaron) Adams, Amy (Jim) Tucker, Shelby (Jordan) Gee, Karly (Ryan) Allen, and Gracie Franklin; his great-grandchildren, Bella Hargrove, Avery Frazier, Lennon Frazier, Carter Gee, and Townsend Adams. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Gracie Carter; his sister, Emma Gertrude Carter Lee; and his nephew, Larry Paul Lee. 

The family invites friends to a visitation at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 109 S. Oklahoma, Celina, Texas 75009, on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.  A graveside service will be held at Melissa Cemetery located on Melissa Road between State Highway 5 and US Highway 75, Melissa, Texas 75454, on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at 11:00 a.m.
