David Alan Husted, Sr. of McKinney, Texas passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on January 27, 2019 at the age of 83. He was born on October 3, 1935 to Walter Husted and Cecelia (Fields) Husted in Olean, New York. David was a graduate of Olean High School in Olean. He served his country proudly in the United States Army stationed in Fort Eustis, Virginia. David married Theresa Zatycki in Hagerstown, Maryland in 1961. He started working for the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1955 and retired in 1997 after 42 years of service. After retiring, David enjoyed time with his family, including his two cats Huey and Daisy, fishing, gardening and especially working crossword puzzles.
David is survived by his wife of 57 years, Theresa Husted of McKinney, Texas; children, Deborah Jones of Waco, Texas, Lisa Husted of Spring, Texas, Linda Zarilla of Spring, Texas, David Husted, Jr. of Spring, Texas and Jeffrey Husted of Olean, New York; grandchildren, Kathryn Husted and Hannah Husted, both of Gunter, Texas; sister, Karen Phillips and her husband, Bruce of East Amherst, NY; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Cecelia; brothers, Edward Husted and Bernard Husted.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, February 1, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Interment will be held at a later date in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Lillibridge Road, Portville, New York 14770. The family will receive friends during a visitation Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
