IN LOVING MEMORY

Darrell Wayne Brumbelow

Jun 08 1932 - Jan 31 2018

Long-time Whitesboro resident Darrell Brumbelow passed away on January 31, 2018 at the Vitality Court Texas Star in Allen, Texas, where he and his bride of almost 68 years, Billie, had lived over the past year.

Darrell was born June 8, 1932 in Frankel, Texas, near Breckenridge. He graduated from Breckenridge High School and married Billie King, his high school sweetheart in 1950. After earning his diploma at Dallas Bible Institute, he pastored churches in Nebraska and Texas. Following ten years of pastoral ministry, he continued to preach on occasion while working in the farm and ranch supply business. After three years as a partner in an office supply store, the Brumbelows moved to Whitesboro in 1982 where they owned and operated Star Hardware and Appliance for 18 years. They lived in Whitesboro until December 2015.

Both in his pastoral ministry and in his business life, Darrell exemplified the gospel of Jesus Christ. His own life had been powerfully changed when he confessed Christ as his Savior in 1950. His pastoral ministry, his business service, and his life influenced not only his own family but uncounted others as well. We miss him exceedingly; he awaits us in glory beyond measure.

He is survived by his loving wife, Billie Brumbelow; three daughters, Linda Ash (Barry), Karen Carrillo (Hector), and Abbie Carrillo (Rey), and two sons, Gary Brumbelow (Valerie) and Mark Brumbelow (Jeanne); 15 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and three sisters.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Bones Chapel Baptist Church Tuesday, February 6, 2018.
