Darmon Charles “DC” Higgins was born April 16, 1928 in Hartshorne, Oklahoma to Donald Higgins and Veda Meeks Higgins. He passed away on April 10, 2021 in Bonham, Texas just 6 days shy of his 93rd birthday.

Known by most as D.C. Higgins, he was a long time resident of Trenton, Texas. He was a retired employee of Dallas Power and Light. He served his nation in the U.S. Navy during World War II and Korea.

D.C. loved small town life and living. He was an avid gardener with a passion for the beauty of nature. He loved the time he and Betty spent at their home among the majestic mountains in Pitkin, Colorado. He enjoyed spending time as a Ham Radio operator. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Trenton Masonic Lodge #761 AF&AM.

He is survived by his daughter Karla Young and husband Kirt of Gordonville; daughter Laura Wise and husband Robert; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Vera Pierson of Tool. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; brothers, Don Higgins Jr. and Johnny Higgins.

A Memorial Service will be held 1:00PM Friday April 23, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church, Trenton, Texas. Officiating will be Rev. Wayne Walters. He will be inurned at a later date at Bettes Cemetery in Ivanhoe, Texas.
