Darla Kay Pacheco

Darla Kay (Hall) Pacheco of Fairview, Texas passed away after a long illness on October 16, 2018 at the age of 81. She was born on April 18, 1937 in San Antonio, Texas. She grew up at the Texas A&M Experiment Station in Beeville, Texas with her parents Robert A. Hall and Elizabeth Coqualla (Pond) Hall. She graduated from A.J. Jones High School in 1953 and attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.

Darla and Phillip L. Pacheco met in August 1953 and they have been together ever since, getting married on October 1, 1955 in Beeville. She owned and managed Coqualla's, a gift shop in Beeville founded by her parents, until 1976. In 2004, Darla and Phillip moved to Allen, Texas. From an early age, she loved music and was an avid reader. In later years, she became interested in genealogy and was instrumental in the formation of the South Texas Genealogical Society.

Darla is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Phillip Pacheco of Fairview, Texas; son, Mark Pacheco of Allen, Texas; granddaughter Kim Pacheco of Frisco, Texas; grandson, Kenny Pacheco and great grandson, Greyson Pacheco, both of Princeton, Texas.

Darla was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Coqualla Hall; brother, Gerald Hall; and sister, Beverly Birkner.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday October 21, 2018 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel,2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. A private interment will be held at Ridgeview Memorial Park.
