With deepest sorrow, we announce Dara Khodayarkhani, age 22, our most beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, family member and friend earned his wings on Friday, June 5, 2020. Dara was a loving soul and was loved by family and friends. His sudden departure to heaven has brought unimaginable sadness and sorrow. Dara was born to his loving parents, Sasan Khodayarkhani and Mana Petgar, and his brother Kasra Khodayarkhani in Tehran, Iran on June 8, 1997. Growing up he was showered with love from his grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins. In his first five years of life Dara brought joy and laughter to the family and friends with his humor and playfulness; he gave everyone life long memories. At the age of five he moved to the United States and started his new adventures. Shortly after, his father, Sassan Khodayarkhani departed our world. Dara quickly learned the English language and excelled in school. He was curious about everything; from disassembling his toys, to how technology works traffic lights. In middle school, Dara developed a love for computers. He enjoyed learning about all aspects and developing a better, faster computer. He also took an interest in football and played for Plano middle school. Dara attended Plano West High School where he excelled academically and later joined the wrestling team. He later entered college and earned an associate degree. Dara’s love for food inspired him to enter the hospitality industry where he worked to understand the restaurant services and eventually move into management. He loved sports cars. Dara had an entrepreneurial mindset and was intending to continue his education in business management to support his lofty goals. He was a beautiful soul and never met a stranger. Dara’s smile was contagious and his love was limitless. He loved people of all ages; with children he was the one they played with and with adults he was the son that anyone would love to have. Dara was his mom’s best friend and baby and always called her mommy; even when he said his last goodnight. He loved his brothers Kasra and Devin and shared a life of fun and love. Dara loved gatherings of all forms and he made them more fun while paying attention to everyone. He loved his friends and he touched many lives in his short stay on this earth.
Dara is survived by his loving grandmother, Farkhondeh Porsa; his mother, Mana Petgar; step-father, Bijan Fathi; brothers, Kasra Khodayarkhani and Devin Fathi; his aunts, Fariba and Naheed Khodayakhani, Mehta and Hele Petgar; uncles, Farsheed and Kamran Khodayarkhani, Hassan, Hossein, Ali, Mohammad, Mahdi, Reza, Ahmad Petgar; many cousins and a host of other loving family and friends.
We will miss Dara, and he will live in our hearts and soul forever.

Please join us to celebrate his life at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park.
In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, only a limited number of invited guests will be allowed to attend the Funeral Service.
The service will also be live streamed on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. on the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Facebook page and a recorded video will be available following the funeral service on Dara’s obituary page.
However, those who would like to honor Dara and show their support to her family may come to the funeral home where ample parking is available. While you remain in your vehicle, you may watch the live streamed service on your personal device (laptop, tablet or smartphone) or listen through a designated FM radio channel.
Following the funeral service, a procession will make its way Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service where all are invited to attend the committal service by standing at a minimum distance of 20 feet from the tent and 6 feet apart from one another to comply with social distancing directives or you may remain in your vehicle. Subject to the Memorial Park/Cemetery guidelines.
