Danny Ray McKinley, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025, at the age of 82, in Blue Ridge, Texas. Born on October 26, 1942, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, Danny was the cherished son of Raymond E. McKinley and Leonor M. Jarvis.
On April 2, 1967, Danny married the love of his life, Janice Andrea Moore, in Anderson, Indiana, beginning a lifelong partnership that became the foundation of a warm and nurturing home. Together, they raised their children with love and compassion and extended their care to several dozen foster children over the years.
Danny proudly served his country in the United States Army, dedicating himself to roles with the Criminal Investigation Division (CID), the FBI, and the NSA. His distinguished service earned him an honorable discharge, marking a career of integrity and commitment. Outside of his military and professional pursuits, Danny worked in various IT roles, where he displayed both technical acumen and a steadfast work ethic.
A man of diverse interests, Danny found joy in fishing, playing the banjo, tuning into his favorite Amateur radio nets, and enjoying movies. These hobbies reflected his love of learning, creativity, and connection to the world around him.
Danny is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Janice A. McKinley of Blue Ridge, Texas; his daughter, Danielle Fay (Timothy) of Blue Ridge, Texas; son, Austin McKinley, of Blue Ridge, Texas; grandchildren, Wyatt and Declan Fay; cousin, Twylla Clanin (Greg), and a host of extended family and friends who cherished him deeply.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents and his son David McKinley.
