Danny Elmer Perkins, age 61, of Gunter, Texas, passed away November 15, 2025. Danny was born February 12, 1964, in Poteau, Oklahoma, to Amos Elmer Perkins and Karen (Rodgers) Perkins. Danny married Karen Renee Price in August of 2002.
Danny was a big man with an even bigger heart. He loved being a cowboy and competing in rodeos. More than that, he loved his family deeply and they loved him. He was easy to love due to his quick wit and gift of storytelling. He could sit around a campfire for hours telling stories and jokes. He loved to laugh and loved making others laugh too. He had an irresistible charm that drew people in and a special place in his heart for his kids and grandkids. He claimed everyone as his own and was incredibly proud of the family he helped build.
Danny is survived by his wife, Karen Renee Perkins of Gunter, Texas; children, Cory Perkins and wife, Heather of Gunter, Texas, Price Ferrell and wife, Reagan of Gunter, Texas, Kimberly Scroggins and husband, Rhyan of Sherman, Texas, Cade Ferrell and wife, Kelsey of Van Alstyne, Texas; grandchildren, Hannah Perkins, Huxley Perkins, Eli Ferrell, Witten Ferrell, Beckham Ferrell, Talia Scroggins, Rhyan Scroggins, Jr., Daniel Scroggins, Sage Ferrell, Link Scroggins, Graham Ferrell, and Barrett Ferrell; great-granddaughter, Leomie Scroggins; brother, Jeffrey Perkins and wife, Sharon of Denison, Texas, Randy Perkins and wife, Shelley of Whitesboro, Texas; nephews, Chad Stanley, Trent Stanley, Trey Sammons, Clay Sammons, Ty Lynn, Kale Perkins, and Falcon Perkins; nieces, Randale Clark and Reed Worthy.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Amos Perkins and Karen Murrell, stepfather, Herman Murrell, sister, Patti Sammons, and niece, Ashton Perkins.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Grace Bible Fellowship, 101 W. Pecan Street, Gunter, Texas, 75058. An inurnment will follow at Whitaker Cemetery, 2106 McConnell Road, Gunter, Texas, 75058.
