Danny “Dan” Lee Rubey of Anna, Texas passed away January 17, 2022, at the age of 63. He was born on August 6, 1958 in Colorado City, Texas. Dan was a 1981 graduate of Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in structural engineering. He was the owner of Cowboy Excavation in Anna. Throughout his life, Dan spent his time doing what he loved most, riding motorcycles and his beloved horses. He was an avid gun enthusiast and thrill seeker, always looking for the next great adventure. Dan loved to laugh and was always happiest seeing others enjoying life along with him.
Dan is survived by his loving fiancée, Brenda Cantrell of Anna, Texas; mother, Ruby Mize and husband, Ray of Big Spring, Texas; brother, Richard J. Rubey of Denton, Texas; their beloved huskies, Nanuk and Storm; and numerous other loving family and friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jake and Susie Sutton, who he cared for deeply and was very close to.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
