Dannie L. Cobb Martin, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025, at the age of 94. She was born on May 6, 1930, in Ware County, Georgia, to her loving parents, Joshua O. Carter and Mary G. (Smith) Carter.
Dannie was a woman of strong faith and a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Allen in Allen, Texas. She spent much of her career working at Texas Instruments, where her dedication and hard work left a lasting impact.
She is survived by her son, Lee C. Cobb, and his wife, Janna, of Van Alstyne, Texas; her grandson, Joshua Cobb, and his wife, Kristin, of Powell, Ohio; her granddaughter, Michelle Hockett, and her husband, Jimmy, of Farmersville, Texas; her niece, Jamie Connors, and her husband, Don, of Longview, Texas; her nephews, Lamar Smith and his wife, Jo Ann, of Blackshear, Georgia, and Rayvon Smith of Waycross, Georgia; as well as several great-grandchildren and many other cherished relatives and friends.
Dannie was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Fred T. Cobb and James A. Martin, and her dear sisters, Eulalia Smith and Esther Stutts.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2024 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Interment will be held at Ridgeview Memorial Park following the service.
The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
