IN LOVING MEMORY

Daniel J. Caballero

Nov 25 1970 - Jul 15 2023

Daniel J. Caballero was a devoted father, husband, brother, and son. He peacefully passed away on July 15, 2023, at the age of 52 in Frisco, Texas.

Daniel was born and raised in Holland, Michigan, to Jesse Caballero and Myrna Caballero. Shortly after graduating Holland Christian High School, Daniel left to join the Marine Corps and was stationed in California. After six years and reaching the rank of sergeant, he left the military to work at Pacific Bell which began a career that led to AT&T. When he was 26, he had his pride and joy and built-in best friend, Alex Caballero. From there, he went on to live in Georgia, Florida, and Texas.

In 2012, he met the love of his life, Julie Basa Caballero, after moving in next door. It was a love that was destined to be. They were married on October 1, 2016, and shared a beautiful 11 years together before his passing.

Daniel loved cycling, fast cars, spending time with his beautiful wife and daughter, baking bread from a secret family recipe, and enjoyed talking with those around him. Daniel was someone who never met a stranger he didn’t like and would tell you his life story within the first hour of meeting him. He had a big heart and cared for those who were in need, and always showed the importance of being kind to those around you. Daniel also knew the importance of seeking out the adventure around us – and he always had fun! He was a true kid at heart.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Julie Basa; his daughter, Alex Caballero; his step-son, Anthony Lanza; his father, Jesse Caballero; and his mother, Myrna Caballero; father-in-law, Laddie Basa and mother-in-law Diana Basa; his sister, Cassandra Caballero; his brother Andrew Caballero; his nieces, Sari Wyssbrod and Ava Wyssbrod; and nephews, Hunter Wyssbrod, Vincent Caballero, Dominic Caballero, and Maximilian Caballero.

Daniel will be honored in a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on August 5, 2023, at Berkshire Chapel located at 9073 Berkshire Drive in Frisco, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.
