Dana Stone Hanson

Dana Stone Hanson of Murphy, Texas passed away June 27, 2021 at the age of 56. She was born on August 8, 1964 to Robert Dean Stone and Carolyn (Forehand) Stone in Kansas City, Missouri. Dana was very energetic throughout her life. She went to high school in Lilburn, Georgia where she played softball. Dana went on to attend the University of Missouri and received her Bachelor’s in Education. She moved to Manhattan, Kansas and started her family with her husband. Dana did not start teaching until she moved to Plano, Texas along with her family. Once she started teaching, she was very involved in the different programs of PISD. Dana always attended her daughter’s softball games and her son’s baseball games. She married Stephen Hanson on September 29, 2013 in Murphy Texas. Together they found a love of scuba diving.  They went as often as they could. Dana remained dedicated to her job and retiring in 2018 was a difficult decision for her but her health was paramount. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas.

Dana is survived by her husband, Stephen Hanson of Murphy, Texas; daughters, Ashley Struchtemeyer of Bedford, Texas and Nicole Hanson of Dallas, Texas; sons, Brandon Struchtemeyer and wife, Evelia of Wylie, Texas and Cameron Hanson of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren, Brynlee, Tyler and Kacey; brothers, Todd Stone and wife, Lesa of Wylie, Texas and Chad Stone and wife, Shannan of Allen, Texas; nephews, Dillon Stone of El Paso, Texas and Jackson Stone; niece, Emma Stone of Allen, Texas and nephew, Dalton Stone of Allen, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Dean Stone.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas. The service will also be live streamed at TJMfuneral.com on Dana’s obituary page by clicking on the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/dana-stone-hanson. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location. Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday, July 1, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
