IN LOVING MEMORY

Dana Lynn McBride

Jan 20 1959 - Dec 05 2021

Dana Lynn McBride, 62, of McKinney, a former long-term resident of Midland and Andrews, Texas, passed away and went to heaven to share a long overdue hug and smile with her son, Austin Herschel McBride, on Sunday, December 5, 2021.  She was born in 1959, to Larry Stephens Moffatt and Linda Lou “Ross” Biden.  Dana graduated from Lamesa High School in 1977, and married her former husband, Daniel Tabor McBride shortly after graduation. They had a perfect baby boy in September of 1988, Austin Herschel McBride.  Herschel was born with transposition of the grand artery and with great sorrow they lost Herschel 10 days after he was born.  Their sorrow was quickly met with joy when they gave birth to their beautiful daughters, Molly Michelle Nobles in 1989 and Ginger Brooke Holguin in 1991.  Through sorrow and joy, Dana had a way of making you smile.

She loved talking with her family.  If you weren’t on her list, she was probably busy making another list.  She was an avid gardener and loved to paint.  She loved to show off both…especially if you were willing to do the planting or the hanging!  She loved classic rock, jazz, and somehow maintained years of storylines of Days-of-Our-Lives. She was never without that famous smile even in times of great adversity. She always lit up any room she was in, and her laughter was infectious.

As an aunt to many nieces and nephews, she taught them the true meaning of giving someone some “sugar.” She was a very important member of the McBride family, and a favorite of her father-in-law Jack W. McBride, mother-in-law Ruthye Tabor McBride, and of her sister-in-laws, Nancy McBride, and Julie Dumbeck.  As wives of the “McBride Boys” Dana and Nancy had a kinship she thoroughly enjoyed.

Dana leaves behind her wonderful mother Linda, her beloved sisters Susan Moffatt and Tambra Stickney and brother Brandt Moffatt, her beautiful daughters Molly and Ginger and their husbands Daniel and Jesse, and her five grandkids Layne, Blaise, Laken, Austin, and Landon.

She is preceded in death by her father Larry, her son Herschel, her daughter’s daddy Daniel McBride, and her boyfriend of 7 years Ricky Kidd.

The family welcomes family and friends to celebrate her life at a remembrance gathering in Dana’s honor from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday,December 8, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North in Allen.  Flowers are welcome, especially ones that can be planted, or if you prefer, the family requests donations be made to Home Hospice of Grayson County online at their website:  www.homehospice.org for their amazing love and support of Dana and her family through this time.
