Dana Lee Litchford, age 100, of Prosper, Texas passed away on July 22, 2017. She was born on August 24, 1916 to Charlie and Viola (Paysinger) Neely at the Collin County Community of Bloomdale near McKinney, Texas.
Dana was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed growing beautiful flowers. Dana’s hobbies included gardening, sewing, needlework, crocheting, and reading. She also loved to cook and try new recipes.
Dana was a member of First Baptist Church of McKinney since the mid-1950s.
She lived a wonderful and happy life of 100 years. Dana’s family was her pride and joy. She, along with her family, was always involved in memorable activities. She passed away at her home of 45 years.
The family wishes to thank all of the kind and loving caregivers provided by Visiting Angels, and wish to express their gratitude to Harris Hospice for being there during her final 48 hours.
Dana is survived by her daughter, Diana Herrin and husband, John of Celina, Texas; granddaughters, Lisa Dorenkamp of Denton, Texas, and Kristin Johnson and husband, Ben of Orlando, Florida; four great-grandchildren, Alex and Nick Dorenkamp of Denton, Texas, and Kate and Ryan Johnson of Orlando, Florida; brother, Bill Neely of McKinney, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Litchford; her parents; and her sister, Charlotte Litchford.
Family and friends are invited to a Visitation to be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 109 South Oklahoma, Celina, Texas 75009, on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. A Graveside Service will be held at Cottage Hill Cemetery, 11400 FM 2478, Celina, Texas 75009, on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Glen Blackmon officiating.
