Cynthia Veronica Gray of McKinney, Texas passed away March 15, 2020 at the age of 79. She was born on April 19, 1940 to Sydney Madhoo and Evelyn (Wallace) Madhoo in Jamaica, West Indies. Cynthia was a graduate of Dalvey Primary School in Jamaica. She married Kensley Roy Gray on September 28, 1960 in Jamaica. In 1970, Cynthia moved to the United States of America where she resided in New York. Cynthia enjoyed crocheting, baking, and cooking. She was especially known for her Jamaican cuisine and pepper sauces. Cynthia was a devoted member of St. Mark Baptist Church, “The Mark” in McKinney, Texas.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Kensley Gray of McKinney, Texas; sons, Donovan Gray and wife, Sherran of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Garfield Gray and wife, Salian of Long Island, New York, Steve Gray of McKinney, Texas, Hector Gray and wife, Bridgette of Laurel, Maryland and Carl Gray of Brooklyn, New York; three sisters; two brothers; nine grandchildren, Nicole, Joel, Kenneth, Danielle, Alexander, Sasha, Elliott, Nicholas and Marcellus; three great-grandchildren, Dasha, Zion and Avery; numerous other loving family members and friends.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, Sydney and Evelyn Madhoo; son, Kensley Gary, Jr.; and granddaughter, Katara.
The family will receive friends during a visitation Wednesday evening, March 18, 2020 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 225 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
